Beautiful local attractions such as Inishowen Head and Kinnagoe Bay are only 10 minute drive at most. Inishowen Head has a spectacular walk that follows a route through some of Donegal’s most impressive coastal scenery and takes in a WWII Lookout Tower. Within a relatively short distance from the trail head the walker is in remote country with wonderful views (including Scotland on a fine day!).
Kinnagoe Bay is a secluded beach in Inishowen, County Donegal, Ireland. It is known for being the location of the wreck of the Armada ship La Trinidad Valencera on 16th September 1588.
From our balcony are amazing views of the whole of the north coast of Ireland, from Eglinton to Portstewart. The North coast can be reached by a Ferry service operates return crossings from Greencastle in Donegal to Magilligan point. The north coast takes in Benone beach, multiple recipient of the European Blue Flag and Seaside Award, and a must-see when visiting the area. It is seven miles of golden sand and a magnificent back drop of mountain and cliff scenery and stunning views across to Donegal.
Downhill beach ls part of an 11km stretch of sand and surf offering a wealth of activities including water sports, scenic walks and facilities for that perfect family day out. Downhill is a Blue Flag Award Beach 2015. Cars are permitted on this beach throughout the year.
The famous Messenden Temple is located in the beautiful surroundings of Downhill Demesne. Both the Temple and the surrounding views are among the most photographed scenes in Ireland. It is perched dramatically on a 120 ft cliff top, high above the Atlantic Ocean on the north-western coast of Northern Ireland, offering spectacular views westwards over Downhill Strand towards Magilligan Point and County Donegal.
